Miss Emma has been a dear friend and an amazing teacher to me for almost three years now. Her tenacious and upbeat spirit made every musical theatre class I've ever attended- one to remember. I have been blessed to be able to work alongside her in many workshops since 2019. Her uninhibited enthusiasm and pure love for theatre inspires me to work just as hard and as passionately as she does. She gives me clear and concise directions and encourages me to do my best, not just at work but in every class I have attended as well, she never fails to commend my strengths and correct my weaknesses. She is incredibly hardworking and her devotion for all her students show through every giggle and smile shared by everyone in the room, she is amazingly funny and a joy to be with, she makes every seemingly mundane lesson- whether it be about chest to head voice or stage directions- a fun one, including everyone in the group, making sure no one is ever left out.
Besides her being a great teacher to others, she has also been a mentor for me. Watching her perform and share the love of theatre to others- such as this website- changed the definition of theatre for me. As an aspiring performer myself, I grew up having an idealised vision of theatre in my mind, and it is easy to find yourself being led into a self-seeking, quite fickle industry, but upon observing Miss Emma I found out that the best thing about theatre is that it is a medium for which one could learn to share empathy and passion to the world- and I believe the world needs these two things the most now, considering the circumstances.
I’d like to thank Miss Emma for giving me the opportunity to teach and be taught. I hope you enjoy her website and teachings as much as I do. And if you’re a performer yourself, or just interested in the world of musical theatre, I hope this website fans your spark into a flame. Break a leg!
